Terms of Use (EULA) of Tevent App
Introduction
Last Updated: August 4, 2026
Welcome to Tevent. These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms") apply to your download, installation, access, and use of the Tevent iOS application, website, related content, paid subscriptions, campus and local event information, community interactions, private messaging, chat, ticket verification, organizational verification, organizational membership, organization member badges, organization membership management, organization information submission, event uploads, promotional campaigns, AI-assisted features, and subsequent updated versions (collectively, the "Service").
By registering, logging in, browsing, bookmarking, posting, posting anonymously, commenting, chatting, sending private messages, submitting verifications, purchasing or restoring subscriptions, opening, or using any feature of the Service, you indicate that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and related policies. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Age Requirements and Scope
The Service is only provided to users who are at least 18 years old. You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the right to consent to and comply with these Terms on your own behalf. If you are under 18 years old, please do not register for, access, or use the Service.
2. License and Nature of the Service
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to download, install, and use Tevent solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices that you legally own or control.
Tevent primarily provides functions such as event information browsing, personal bookmarking, event planning, campus or local community interaction, private messaging, chat, school or organization verification, organizational membership identity and badge display, organization membership management, organization information submission, event uploads, promotional content display, ticket verification, and AI-assisted organizing, summarizing, recommending, searching, or replying.
We may add, adjust, restrict, suspend, replace, or take offline certain features, interfaces, data sources, available regions, or service capabilities based on product operations, compliance, security, moderation, commercial arrangements, or technical needs, and we do not guarantee that all features will remain continuously available at all times, in all regions, for all schools, or on all devices.
For features such as organizational membership, organization member badges, organization membership management, organization information submission, event uploads, and promotional campaigns, we may set application requirements, review standards, available permissions, display rules, validity periods, revocation conditions, and visibility scopes based on actual operational needs. You understand and agree that such features are only tools or display mechanisms provided by the platform and do not constitute our guarantee of any organization's qualification, authenticity, continuity, influence, commercial results, exposure effect, recruitment outcome, or any other online or offline result.
For student organizations or school departments that successfully apply for and are approved for onboarding on the platform, the Event Synchronization Service will be activated upon approval. Once activated, all events that are promoted through large-scale email distribution by the organization will, in principle, be automatically listed on Tevent within 24 hours after the email is sent. The organization remains solely responsible for ensuring that the event information contained in such emails is accurate, complete, lawful, and up-to-date. Automatic listing does not constitute our endorsement of the event content, nor does it relieve the organization of its responsibility for the accuracy and legality of the information. We reserve the right to review, delay, modify, or remove any automatically listed event if it is found to be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or in violation of these Terms or applicable laws.
3. Account, Login, and Identity Data
You must provide true, complete, and up-to-date registration information and properly safeguard your login credentials. You may not lend, sell, share, or otherwise transfer your account. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
If you log in using a school email, Microsoft account, or other third-party identity services, the availability, verification results, permissions, and policies of such accounts are also subject to the respective institutions or third-party service providers.
School or organizational verification status solely indicates that you have completed the corresponding verification process defined by the platform; it does not constitute our guarantee of your identity, qualifications, credit, performance capability, or any offline conduct.
If you use the Service on behalf of a school, club, organization, group, or other entity, or apply for organizational verification, organizational membership, organization member badges, organization management permissions, event upload permissions, or promotional campaign permissions, you represent and warrant that you have obtained sufficient and continuously valid authorization to do so. Any settings, submissions, postings, reviews, confirmations, withdrawals, management actions, or other operations you perform within the Service shall be deemed to have been made by you and/or with the authorization of the entity you represent. If your authorization basis expires, changes, or is terminated, you must immediately stop using the relevant permissions and notify us.
4. Paid Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal
Tevent may offer auto-renewing subscription services, including but not limited to Tevent Pro. If you purchase an auto-renewing subscription, you agree to the following:
The subscription will automatically renew according to the billing cycle displayed on the purchase page; for example, if a monthly plan is currently offered, it will auto-renew on a monthly basis.
The subscription price, currency, trial period (if any), and applicable taxes are subject to the information displayed on the in-app purchase page and the Apple App Store at the time of your purchase.
Unless you cancel via your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, the subscription will automatically renew, and the associated fees will be charged by Apple to your Apple ID account.
You may manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
In principle, subscription periods that have already begun will not be refunded on a pro-rata basis if you stop using the Service midway; refunds, billing, and payment disputes are generally handled by Apple in accordance with its policies.
If the Service offers a "Restore Purchase" feature, you may use it to restore valid subscription benefits associated with the same Apple ID.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise on the purchase page, paid subscriptions only enhance or unlock specific features and do not guarantee any events, social interactions, exposure, registrations, admissions, offline outcomes, or commercial benefits.
5. Community Rules and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Tevent maintains a zero-tolerance policy against the following content and behaviors: illegal content, harassment and abuse, hate or discriminatory speech, pornography and vulgarity, sexual solicitation, violent threats, encouragement of self-harm, fraudulent transactions, spam/advertising, unauthorized collection or dissemination of others' personal information, impersonation, malicious spamming or flooding, organizing or guiding dangerous offline activities, and other content or behavior we deem harmful to users, the platform, or third parties.
Even if you post, comment, or interact anonymously, you may not circumvent these Terms, community rules, or platform enforcement. The anonymous feature does not imply exemption from liability; we may still retain links to the relevant account, device, records, or interaction data and process them as necessary for security, compliance, moderation, or law enforcement purposes.
6. Content Filtering, Reporting, Blocking, and Real-time Self-Protection
To maintain platform security and community order, we may combine keyword rules, automated risk identification, manual moderation, and other technical measures to filter, restrict, delay the display of, refuse to publish, take down, or delete posts, comments, chat messages, anonymous content, or other user content.
The Service may provide security mechanisms including, but not limited to, the following:
- Reporting posts, comments, chat partners, or other content.
- Blocking or muting other users to restrict interactions or display.
- Hiding specific posts or content to reduce their appearance on your interface.
- Deleting posts, comments, or other content published by you that you have the right to remove.
- Reporting inappropriate content, dangerous behavior, or other safety issues to us via in-app contact methods.
You understand and agree that, in order to protect yourself and other users, some content may be automatically restricted, intercepted, taken down, or further reviewed before or immediately after publication.
7. Report Handling and Enforcement Measures
If we receive user reports, proactively detect suspicious content, or have other reasonable grounds to believe that an account or content may violate these Terms, we may take measures including, but not limited to, warnings, correction requests, exposure restriction, feature restriction, delayed display, content removal, content hiding, muting, chat suspension, verification rejection, account suspension, account termination, or permanent bans.
We will process content suspected of violating the zero-tolerance policy or other severe violations as quickly as possible. For valid reports involving safety risks, harassment, pornography, fraud, hate, violence, mass private messaging, abuse of organizational permissions, abuse of member badges, fake events, false verification, or other major violations, our goal is to complete a preliminary review within 24 hours of receiving the report and, where necessary, remove the relevant content and disable or restrict the violating account.
By submitting a report, you agree to use the reporting feature based on truthful, good-faith, and reasonable grounds, and you must not maliciously abuse it or use it to harass others.
8. User Content and Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for the text, images, event information, verification materials, chat content, and other data you upload, publish, transmit, submit, or display, and you warrant that you possess the necessary rights, licenses, or other legal bases.
You are equally responsible for any organization information, membership information, badge information, event information, promotional content, verification materials, private message content, or other data that you fill in, submit, upload, or display, and you warrant that such information is truthful, complete, lawful, current, and not misleading.
You may not publish fake events, misleading information, infringing content, others' personal information without consent, or any content that may cause others to suffer damages, harassment, fraud, stalking, discrimination, or risk. You may not use organizational identity, membership identity, badge display, event upload tools, or promotional tools to publish false advertising, impersonating information, solicitation messages, spam, or any other content that may harm the platform, organizations, users, or third parties.
To provide, display, back up, moderate, distribute, recommend, synchronize, and improve the Service, you grant us a license to store, process, display, transcode, crop, compress, format, and use the content you submit to the extent necessary to provide the Service.
9. Event Information, Organizer Content, and Offline Risks
If you are an event organizer, planner, organization, or their representative, you must independently ensure that the event content, time, venue, ticketing, qualifications, insurance, permits, promotions, and public statements are truthful, accurate, complete, and legal.
If you use features such as organization information submission, organizational membership, organization member badges, organization membership management, event uploads, or promotional campaigns, you must also independently ensure that the relevant organization information, member identities, management permissions, badge descriptions, promotional content, event arrangements, and public statements are truthful, accurate, complete, continuously valid, and compliant with applicable law and your organization's internal rules. Any disputes, losses, or liabilities arising from authorization defects, internal disputes, membership disputes, inaccurate information, misleading promotion, event cancellation, or event changes shall, in principle, be borne by the relevant organization, organizer, publisher, or actual actor.
Tevent primarily serves as an information display, interaction, and tool platform. Unless we make a clear written commitment otherwise, we are not the organizer, contractor, employer, agent, or guarantor of the offline events, gatherings, transactions, transportation arrangements, venue services, third-party ticketing, or catering services you participate in.
Any offline meetups, event participation, financial transactions, travel arrangements, private communications, item exchanges, or other offline interactions are undertaken at your own judgment of risk and you bear the consequences. You should independently verify the other party's identity, the authenticity of the event, location safety, and applicable restrictions.
10. AI Features and Third-Party Information
Certain features of the Service may use automated models or third-party AI services to analyze, summarize, recommend, search, plan, or generate auxiliary content based on the text, event links, event data, conversation content, or related context you input.
AI-generated content and third-party sourced event information may contain inaccuracies, delays, omissions, invalidities, ranking biases, or fail to meet your expectations. They are for auxiliary reference only and do not constitute official, legal, medical, financial, academic, safety, travel, or other professional advice. You must independently determine whether to adopt them.
11. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Use the Service to engage in any illegal, infringing, fraudulent, harassing, stalking, spamming, commercial sex, hate speech, or other inappropriate behavior.
- Impersonate others, forge identities, abuse verification, maliciously register, maliciously report, spam private messages, mass-send promotional messages, misuse an organization's name, forge or improperly use organization member badges, membership status, or organization management permissions, or create fake events.
- Use crawlers, bots, automated scripts, or other unauthorized means to scrape, copy, interfere with, test, attack, or mass-access the Service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, or bypass any security, authorization, risk control, or access restriction mechanisms, except where expressly permitted by mandatory law.
- Access, alter, delete, steal, transfer, rent, lend, share, or otherwise misuse any organization membership, organization management, organization information, event management, badge display, or promotion-related permissions, data, or settings without authorization.
- Use the Service or its content for unauthorized commercial purposes, or use the Service in a way that may harm the interests of the platform, organizers, organizations, third parties, or other users.
12. Account Termination, Content Removal, and Data Retention
You may apply to delete posts, remove certain content, or cancel your account through the methods provided within the App. We may retain necessary records and processing logs for security, moderation, legal, dispute resolution, anti-abuse, law enforcement assistance, or compliance needs.
Such necessary records and processing logs may include, without limitation, organizational verification materials, organization information submissions, membership and badge display records, event upload and promotion records, private message and interaction records, review comments, enforcement records, and relevant device or login information. We may retain, access, compare, back up, or disclose such data as required by law or as reasonably necessary for the foregoing purposes.
If you violate these Terms, or if we reasonably believe you may pose a risk to the platform, other users, or third parties, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to all or part of the Service at any time without liability.
13. Intellectual Property
Except for content for which users legally hold rights, Tevent's interfaces, designs, logos, copy, platform content, organized data presentation, software source code, and related intellectual property are owned by us or the respective rights holders.
Without prior written consent from us or the corresponding rights holders, you may not copy, modify, publicly transmit, sell, rent, license, sublicense, or otherwise utilize the aforementioned content beyond the scope of normal use of the Service.
14. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be continuously uninterrupted, entirely error-free, completely secure, or perfectly meet your specific requirements.
Event information, third-party links, promotional content, user-published content, organization information, member badge display content, private message content, and AI-generated content may be provided, submitted, or co-created by third parties. We make no comprehensive guarantees regarding their authenticity, completeness, legality, availability, safety, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, data loss, loss of anticipated profits, loss of goodwill, third-party actions, internal organizational management disputes, membership eligibility disputes, badge display disputes, private messaging disputes, differences in promotional performance, offline event risks, or damages caused by service interruptions.
To the extent permitted by law, we reserve the final right of interpretation with respect to the Service's feature design, review standards, verification conditions, membership qualification, badge styles, display rules, event and promotional mechanisms, and these Terms and related policies.
15. Updates to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes may be notified to you via in-app prompts, update pages, public terms pages, or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after an update will be deemed as your acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
The formation, effectiveness, interpretation, performance, and dispute resolution of these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to the Service or these Terms shall first be settled through friendly negotiation; if negotiation fails, either party may submit the dispute to a court or arbitration institution of competent jurisdiction for resolution.
